ORLANDO, Florida (October 2011) – ‘A resort of international distinction …’ says Brian Welch of Resort Trades’ Management and Operations Magazine. Located in South Yarmouth, Mass., The Ocean Club on Smuggler’s Beach celebrated its grand re-opening of 63 beautiful ocean view and ocean front units in May of this year. The article goes on to describe how Mary Daust, Vice President, LEED AP and her design team developed the concept of a warm, inviting, ocean themed guest room that could be enjoyed year round. This design direction included ocean blues, teals, and creams, to maintain a light and airy feeling. The flooring was cleverly completed in a ‘wood-look’ plank tile to resemble drift wood tones but maintain long term functionality with the sand and surf just outside. The casegoods were kept light to suit the beautiful Cape Cod surroundings and the art pays homage the sea life and ocean views. The article continues on to explain how The Ocean Club on Smuggler’s Beach and Hospitatlity Resources and Design worked hand in hand to make sure that this multi-million dollar renovation would exceed guest’s expectations. Hospitality Resources and Design is a licensed Interior Design Firm located in Orlando, FL recognized nationally for their hotel and timeshare renovation and refurbishment.

Hospitality Resources & Design Revamps And Enhances Website

ORLANDO, Florida (September 2011) – HRD has spent the last several months redeveloping their website to feature several new projects, increase the informational content, improve the ease of use and perfect the overall appearance of the site.

An integral part of re-designing the website has been to highlight HRD’s exceeding aptitude in resort and timeshare interior design by showcasing several of the unique properties within their portfolio. “As part of our online portfolio, we feel it is important to show both Before and After photos of our projects to best illustrate how even the most timeworn property can be transformed into a fresh, up-to-date, and inviting space” shares Mary Daust, Vice President of HRD.

Another feature of the site’s refurbishment is the addition of the Sustainability page . This area gives HRD the opportunity to promote their knowledge of sustainable design and building practices, the importance of designing and planning to reduce environmental impact and specifying furnishings and finishes that promote a healthier interior environment. This section also features how they have integrated sustainable values into past projects and their own green practices within the office.

HRD is excited to have a dynamic website that will allow them to share newly completed projects, news about the company, industry events and other announcements relating to the hospitality design industry.

ORLANDO, Florida (August 2011) – Hospitality Resources & Design has purchased a 5,000 square foot building to house their design studio and offices. HRD’s new location is in beautiful Baldwin Park at 919-A Outer Road Orlando, FL 32814.

“The building’s concentric layout lends to a team approach that enhances creativity and produces a balanced design” says Rich Budnik, President of HRD. The offices surround two main design areas that are visible to all of the designers. This helps play an important role in HRD’s team-based design process. In addition to the concentric design, the building provides ample space that pleasantly accommodates both HRD’s offices and their extensive design resource library.

In line with the architectural philosophy in Baldwin Park, the exterior of the building resembles a residential home in a traditional style with brick trim. All entryways are French doors and there are numerous windows that allow natural daylight to reach nearly every area within the building and also allow the team to connect with nature by being able to view the lush environment just outside. “Everyone has a window in their office. Having so much natural light has further elevated the happiness of everyone” says Beth Bierly-Goodworth, Associate Designer/Project Manager. Additionally, in keeping with HRD’s environmentally-conscious practices, the new location has on-site recycling which makes it even more convenient for the office to continue recycling as they had at their previous location.

HRD’s mission as a company is to provide exceptional service and to exceed their client’s expectations throughout the design, procurement and installation process. The HRD team has the expertise and experience to provide their clients an innovative design while completing all projects on time and in budget.

CAPE COD, Massachusetts (July 2011) – HRD recently completed a total renovation of 62 Guest Rooms and the Lobby at The Ocean Club on Smuggler’s Beach. The color palette and overall design for both the guestrooms and lobby is inspired by the seashore upon which the resort is located.

The guestroom interiors are completely refurbished in a fresh and calming coastal design scheme. The full renovation of the rooms include new kitchens and baths complete with maple cabinets and granite counter tops. The bathroom vanities are finished with white modern above-counter sinks and brushed nickel fixtures and accessories. The new custom-made case goods are cream painted wood that complements the warm, natural wood tones of the cabinets and dining chairs. The new sofas are both comfortable and functional as sleepers and are completed with accent pillows in a fun pattern. A large and durable storage ottoman is used in lieu of a traditional coffee table to provide both additional storage and seating. The window treatments are designed to allow for unobstructed views of the shoreline right outside the resort. Additional custom finish details include bedding, artwork, mirrors and area rugs.

The lobby renovation incorporates coastal elements in a fun yet sophisticated manner. Custom seating, artwork and window treatments create an overall fresh and comfortable ambiance. Additionally, new cabinets with granite tops were installed for storage, the front desk was refreshed with a new façade and granite top and a new activity desk was added for guest convenience.

HRD specified all of the furnishings, fixtures and finishes, procured all of these items and managed the project until its successful completion in June 2011. The Hospitality Resources and Design team is committed to use their experience and expertise to provide clients with fresh and functional design while completing all projects on time and in budget.
